Explanation

Treatment involves an assessment of the whole animal
(a case history, movement and gait analysis, and physical examination), although manipulation concentrates primarily on the spinal vertebral column and the pelvis
. It is performed entirely by hand and is relatively gentle.

After an injury (either acute, or longstanding) your animal will compensate by moving differently, causing muscle and ligament tightness (often on a diagonal) and hence bony "misalignments". A misalignment is a joint in the spine or pelvis which is out of line with its neighbours.

Treatment consists of rapid, accurate thrusts applied to these misaligned joints which release muscle spasm and allow the joint to return to its normal position.

After treatment the healing process continues for a few days and I will advise you how best to encourage this.
